We just finished up with our third planning meeting of the year. We're excited about so many things: about a possible new location; about hosting some of the same fun stuff as last year, and adding new fun stuff to this year's lineup; about maybe breaking the Guinness World Record for largest potluck??; and about finding all new opportunities to imagine and inspire sustainable living. Check us out on Facebook for regular news updates and the chance to win your very own MZF t-shirt, and stay tuned for more exciting Mission Zero Fest news!
We started up this year's Mission Zero Fest with a planning meeting last Wednesday at 4:30pm at the Ecology Center (339 E. Liberty, suite #300). We welcomed new faces and helpful suggestions! Thanks to everyone who joined us to find out more about this unique festival and how you can help us make it even better. For more information, email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
JUNE 9 AND 10, 2012
Thanks to all of the speakers, volunteers, sponsors, workshop leaders, food vendors and exhibitors for their support of this year's event. It was a wonderful two days and we had a great turn out. We also thank the Ann Arbor Journal for their great followup article on Mission Zero Fest and Climate Change.
From home energy retrofits to homegrown tomatoes, Mission Zero Fest celebrates local, organic solutions to complex global problems. For our community, our country and our future, we sought to demonstrate real examples of conscious low-impact living in a fun and festive atmosphere.
Music and lectures were just a part of last year's celebration. Also featured:
- Workshops and demonstrations
- Green home tours
- Speakers and seminars
- Live energy audits
- Local food vendors
- Music and dancing in the street
- Fun for all ages!
We can't wait to see you next year!
Six electric cars were on display at Mission Zero Fest 2012: a Nissan Leaf, a Toyota Prius, a Chevy Volt, a Mitsubishi EV, and two Ford Focus EVs shuttled attendees to green home tours
Singer/songwriter/pianist Vienna Teng was proud to be a part of the stellar music scene.
